Balanced Christians

Balanced Christians are realistic tolerant people, patient with those who disagree. Serious when necessary, yet still having fun, still enjoying life. They are less and less intense, free from fanaticism. Furthermore, they are not afraid to say, " I don't know." They are still discovering. They listen and value another opinion, even one with which they disagree. They uphold the dignity of others, refusing to put them down. They are not easily threatened. Why? They're balanced! They realize they don't have all the truth. They're open to the possibility of alternative positions that give new slants and fresh perspective.

- Chuck Swindoll's "Growing Deep in the Christian Life."

The Greatest!

"He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

(Matthew 18:2-4)

Who's the greatest? Well according to Jesus it is children. It isn't the world famous or the wealthy or the best looking people. It isn't the talented musicians and athletes or the scholars. It isn't political leaders either... unless of course they humble themselves and become like a child. Children! We have allot to learn from them about greatness. Care to take some notes?

Boldness

"Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ."
(Acts 28:31)

I was just at a PMC home group on the other day and an interesting question came up. The question asked to give an example of a bold person. A-Bomb mentioned Pastor P. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, I must agree. He reflected on how much this man of God wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. He is a man who wants to see people reach their full potential. He would hand out a task to someone and would not allow them to refuse it. He isn't scared of rejection or being put to shame when taking a leap of faith. He is a true thrill seeker driven with a real passion for Christ. Yes A-Bomb, I must concede. You are correct.

Than M said MDeep is another prime example. Absolutely! He will go up to anyone and talk with them. His Tourettes Syndrome does not make him the least bit timid. He has no inhibitions and will gladly tell anyone that he has Tourettes after starting a conversation. Most people without Tourettes wouldn't do the same. Way to go MDeep!

I must say that I'm really inspired but such people. They are truly great!

Joking Around!

Atheist in the woods

An atheist was walking through the woods.

"What majestic trees"!

"What powerful rivers"!

"What beautiful animals"!

He said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7 foot grizzly charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him.

He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped & fell on the ground . He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him. At that instant the Atheist cried out,
"Oh my God!"

Time Stopped.

The bear froze.

The forest was silent.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. "You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident." "Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer"?

The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps You could make the BEAR a Christian"?

"Very Well," said the voice.

The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:

"Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen."

Finding Community in Cambodia by David Jeremiah

32All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. 33With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. 34There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.

36Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement), 37sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles' feet.

(Acts 4:32-37)

"... a small church meeting in the slum learned that one of their members had relapsed in his struggle to defeat alcoholism. They found him comatose on the floor of the room where he lived - no running water or toilet facilities - surrounded by garbage, trash and human waste. They tried to help him as best they could but the next day he died. All the equally poor church members spent three days honoring their destitute friend in the traditional burial procedures. Mike (a missionary) later wrote, "I learned so much from my church (in Cambodia) about what community means and what it means to be one family in Christ."

- from David Jeremiah's, "Turning Points Magazine and Devotional"

Love

Love ever gives Forgives, outlives, And ever stands With open hands; And while it lives it gives, For this is love's perogative To give, And give, And give!

Divine Worship

Then he said to Moses, "Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel."

(Exodus 24:1)

I am thrilled by God! He invites us to worship Him but we can be such fickle worshipers. One second our lips are used to praise God and than the next, it is used to gossip or for slander and even used to speak death to someone. One second we are worshiping God and than then next thing we know it we are worshiping the TV or a musician or a girlfriend or boyfriend or even sports hero or actor. We can be so fickle. But God doesn't give up on us and is still faithful inspite of our faithlessness (2 Timothy 2:13). He loves us so much that he give us a second chance to change and repent (Matthew 3:8). He will even forgive us. (1 Timothy 1:9).

Knowing all of this can only deepen and heighten our praise and love and adoration of God. Let's release some full blown praise to him now!

Car Accident

"He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." (Matthew 5:45)

I just got into a car accident. Luckily I was not injured. I got side swiped. I'm a little shaken. Keep me in your prayers!

Spark 2006

I took some kids to a pre teen convention called Spark! Phil Cann spoke of India. It was absolutely sparkling. I love this convention. The kids jump, climb, eat and play video games on top of getting a fresh dose of spiritual manna! It was quite memorable!

Dav Kids

Dav can't seem to stop multiplying. There are kids everywhere. I found these ones in the drunk of my car a few years back. How did they get in there?

Prayer Night

Here is a pic of a prayer night we had for the boys last year.

Games Night

We sometimes have occasional games nights for the kids. So far Georgy is the games champ. It get's personal at times.

Cali to Buncouver.

I came back to the sight of clouds, rain and coldness. Yeah, I miss the Cali sky and warm weather, hospitality and Spirit encounters. But God is here as well. It is time to get back to work. It is time to rise up and bring it to pass. There are greater works to do yet. Care to become co laborer?

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father." (John 14:12)

""You heavens above, rain down righteousness;
let the clouds shower it down.
Let the earth open wide,
let salvation spring up,
let righteousness grow with it;
I, the LORD, have created it." (Isaiah 45:8)

Pr O

Here is Pr O and some friends. We ended last night in prayer, praise and worship. Billiam can play a fast tablah! I just love those rhythms! I see more of JC in Pr O now than I ever have in my life! He has grown in leaps and bounds! God is just getting started. I was so inspired and motivated when we talked and hung out. I really love this man as well!

Great prophetic words were uttered at this meeting of worship. I won't share because they are to deep, profound and beautiful!

"Now the men of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, "You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh Barnea about you and me." (Joshua 14:6)

Pet & Jos

I just adore Pet and Jos. They are Pastor B and Kat's kids. There are so adorable. They are becoming men of God and can't seem to stop growing every year I see them. They are quite godly. They have hearts willing to serve. Sounds familar?

" Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all." (Mark 9:35)

Pain

Some people experience deep pain. It is here where real substantial spiritual growth takes place. I'm blessed that I have friends who are sent by Jesus. They are able to enter into that pain and experience and understand it personally. It makes you realize that you are not alone. They even bring comfort to those hard to reach places!

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows." (1 Corinthians 1:3-5)

The Youth @ HOP!

Here is VJ and AJ and the gang of youth. They are re finishing, re visioning, re directing and re orienting the outlook of the group. I'm excited for them! I've seen them grow in leaps and bounds in the past few years. Some have left the thugs and drugs life for something better! It would be Jesus!

I've learned that you never really 'arrive' in ministry. It belongs to God and it is constantly living, changing and moving and becoming different each step of the way. That is what makes it so dynamic and thrilling.

"See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you." (Isaiah 42:9)

Pastor B and A

Pastor B was an awesome host! We had a great time together! He made a little error at one of the meetings on Sunday. He looked at me and said, "We are having a matrimonial today!" Than he corrected himself and said, "Dedication. No one is getting married today.... except maybe Bilson." There was allot of laughter! It is the second time that the a Church service turned into a male auction! They love to put it all out there!

Pastor A did a great job. He has a marvelous smile. God bless him!

" Are you married? Do not seek a divorce. Are you unmarried? Do not look for a wife." (1 Corinthians 7:27)

Wrap

The youth session began with this marvelous man of God named Markus. God saved him from a life of drugs! He shared his testimony and we were all moved. He also launched into some serious rap song. He thanks Pastor B for allowing rap music in his church. Man can he drop a rhyme! It was rad! We were all floored. He was so passionate and real! We had a small prayer meeting before the session and it was a marvelous time in God's presence. Markus is getting married soon enough! I'm in awe of you Jesus!

He also wants to start a home group reaching those hurt by the church. It is most needed!

"It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High," (Psalm 92:1)

Worship

The team arrive at the church to get things set. They're just dieing to Worship! The flight arrives late but we still got time to get things put into motion.

" All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door." (Exodus 33:10)

On the Way

These are some of the sights on the way to Yuba City Cali. It is not Mars but the west coast! Mtn Shasta and St. Helen's are in view!

We were going to the convention at the church called House of Prayer. It was an awesome weekend. We go every year and the church never ceases to show us their best hospitality. They are truly amazing!

"News of this reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts." (Acts 11:22-23)
