Money, Money, Money!

Money can buy medicine, but not health.
Money can buy a house, but not a home.
Money can buy companionship, but not friends.
Money can buy entertainment, but not happiness.
Money can buy food, but not an appetite.
Money can buy a bed, but not sleep.
Money can buy a crucifix, but not a savior.
Money can buy the good life, but not eternal life.

Offering

We all have something beautiful to offer God.
Something wonderful!
Something.

It can be a simple hello to our neighbour.
It can be a phone call to someone we haven’t see in awhile
It can be visiting the sick in a hospital.
It can be a helping hand to a buddy who needs to move.
It can be a listening ear for a broken heart.
It can be a letter of encouragement to lift a spirit.
It can be congratulations to a friend who had a prayer answered!

It can be anything.
It can be something.
It can be wonderful.
It can be thoughtful

We all have something beautiful to offer God

Contentment

"You see, society's plan of attack is to create disatisfaction, to convince us that we must be in constant pursuit for something out there that is sure to bring us happiness. When you reduce that lie to its lowest level, it is saying that contentment is impossible without striving for more. God's Word offers the exact opposite advice: Contentment is possible when we stop striving for more. Contentement never comes from externals. NEVER!"

Firm Believer in Christ (Roman 1:16)

The decision has been made, the dye has been cast, and I have stepped over the line. As a disciple of Christ, I will no longer look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future secure. I'm finished with low living, sight walking, worldy talkin, cheap giving, and tamed visions. I no longer need pre eminence, prosperity, position, promotions, power, or popularity. I don't have to be right, recognized or praised, regarded or rewarded. I now live by faith, walk in victory, and labor in love. The road before me is narrow and rough, but His commission is undeniable, thus my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the face of the enemy, pander at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of medocrity. I won't give up, shut-up or let-up, until I have prayed up, praised up, paid up, and spoke up for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am a Firm Beleiver in Christ.

The Greatest Thing

"...and the greatest of these is love." (1 Cor 13:13)

Psychologist say there are two main things that people need for full and effective lives. The first is the ability to express love, and the second is the oppourtunity to express love. The person who cannot or will not love will be shriveled in his relationships. The man who is not loved, who doesn't know what being loved is like, will be stunted in his soul. We are made for relationships, so to be stunted relationally is to be impoverished personally, shriveled emotionally, and impaired socially.

True Greatness

Jesus talked about not letting your left hand know what your right hand is doing. True greatness in God's kingdom is serving without the need for the praise, approval and recognition of others. It's serving with your eyes on Christ and not yourself. That's not always easy to do. It's natrual to want to know that you're making a positive difference in the lives of teenagers. Recognition is the feedback that tells you that you're on target. A simple thank-you is an honest, earthly expression of appreciation. None of those things are wrong; what's important is that we keep recognition in perspective. One thank-you from God will go a lot further than a stadium full of cheering fans. Jesus is your model for giving your life for teenagers. He came to serve and give his life as a ransom for many. As a servant leader, true greatness is waiting for the most important thank-you stored for you in heaven.
