The Cynical

"A fool finds no pleasure in understanding
but delights in airing his own opinions." (Proverbs 18:2)

Don't you get a rise out of those cynical, pessimistic people. They are the ones who think they are so real, honest and truthful. They bark words of discouragement, doubt and even death in those seeking affirmation. It is even more crazzy when they do it all in the name of truth. They think they do the whole world a favor spreading their hopeless, negative point of view.

What they need is a God sized vision. They need to believe the unbelievable. They need to dare to dream, take a leap of faith, a risk without any regrets. They need to understand the hope we have in Christ. They need to realize that their words speak death and Jesus was much different.

Maybe, they have had a traumatic experience that has zapped their hope, and optimism. One way to cure this is to put that experience in the perspective of Christ's suffering. It will give new meaning, hope and reassurance. Somehow, things won't seem so bad... They also need to know the truth...

" I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints," (Ephesians 1:18)

"The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life." (John 6:63)

" Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 2:26)
