I'm Not Well...

I remember and ol' friend who used to talk about not being well. Sometimes he couldn't quite put into words what was going on. There are certain trials and suffering we take on that cannot be put into words. No one seems to understand even if they say or think they do. It may almost look like that there is no relief in sight. It can make the sufferer feel alone, jaded, and even fearful.

However, there are benefits to our suffering as mentioned in the Bible:

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."
(Romans 5:1-5)

"For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer." (2 Corinthians 1:5-6)

In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through
suffering. (Hebrews 2:10)

"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.
But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you." (1 Peter 4:12-14)

"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."
(2 Corinthians 4:17)

Don't loose heart. It is all for good. There are benefits!
